5 health influencers you need to follow
For this blog post I wanted to share with you guys five people whose online presence has influenced the way I live my life the most. They inspire me to live a proactive healthy lifestyle through their knowledge and advice on diet, exercise, mindset and more. Each one of them has motivated me to be a better version of myself by the way I take care of my mind, body and soul.
Katie Wells
A wife and a mom of six, Katie is an award-winning blogger, author and podcaster. She started her blog, Wellness Mama, to provide simple answers for healthier families through practical tips, real food recipes, natural beauty and cleaning tutorials, natural remedies and more. She has a wealth of knowledge in any area you can imagine and I often find myself going to her site as a source for answers on health needs. She has a score of homemade/DIY recipes that I’ve loved and, someday, I hope to have a lifestyle and home filled with natural products.
Sadie Robertson
Sadie is the author of Live Original. This one took me a little while to land on officially but I’m an enormous fan. First I found a 30-minute sermon on Facebook that was given to a university campus given by Sadie. I had no idea who she was but the video was life-changing for me. I started following her on social media without realizing she’s the daughter of Willie and Korie Robertson from Duck Dynasty. I had never seen the show but I did see God’s Not Dead so that’s when it all made sense to me that Sadie would give such a talk to a university. I follow her because she is so unashamed of her faith and her journey. She speaks from her heart because her heart is after God and it’s so encouraging to me to see her walk through today’s life with such confidence and trust in God. She’s truly uplifting and her words push me to live that way too.
Commander Mark Divine
I can’t give Commander Mark Divine the accurate introduction he deserves. He was first introduced to me by his podcast, Unbeatable Mind, when I had an internship working with first responders. Unbeatable Mind is an intensive online training program with step-by-step techniques for gaining mental clarity, increased focus, physical fitness and nutrition and increased awareness. Commander Divine is the author of four different books which focus on resiliency, reaching your human potential, leading for success and unconventional training. All his materials are based on his experience and knowledge from serving as a Navy SEAL for over a decade. His podcasts have helped me be more aware of myself and the world around me, and have given me tips on how to be a better leader. He inspires me to have the inner strength of a warrior, even in my every day, mundane life.
Mona Vand
Dr. Mona is a pharmacist who believes wellness stems from diet, exercise and mindset. She’s not your typical pharmacist, though. She promotes a gluten-free and vegan diet, exercise and changing your mindset to be empowering and positive. I love following her because she posts recipes, quick tips, product reviews and much more. She holds frequent Instagram Live sessions to answer questions, usually pertaining to different topics. Topics I’ve tuned in to include skin care, hair care, vegan living, yoga and meditation. Mona posts to her YouTube channel about grocery shopping and organic and natural remedies for many different health issues. I love the way she treats health proactively, naturally and with so much fun.
Melissa Wood-Tepperberg
Melissa is a certified health and wellness coach, yoga teacher and meditator. She struggled with never feeling enough, severe anxiety, painful cystic acne and an awful eating disorder but turned her life around and wants to help others do the same. She believes in living your truth and dropping feelings of doubt and how you “should” be, striving to help others be more compassionate toward themselves and be empowered by self-care. Her three M’s for this goal are meditation, mindful eating and movement. She is a coach on the Fitner app and spreads her knowledge of nutrition and experience with mindfulness through her social media. Melissa has helped me think less negatively about myself by sharing her best practices in meditation and mindset.
